Well, we seem to have hit a snag. I got a call at 4:30 in the afternoon on Thursday saying that there was a slight problem with the loan. Keep in mind that I was supposed to be signing for the house at 11:00 the next morning. After some panicking and quite a bit of upsettedness, i was able to get the "Snag" worked out. So, now the plan is to be signing on Tuesday. IF things go as planned, we will be moving wed through sat and cleaning over the weekend on the old place. (If anyone feels the need to help and/or stand and ridicule while we pack and move please feel free to stop by any time, Both of us took the whole week off so we will be around. If you need directions please ask and I will e-mail them. There May be cookies.)

SO, i am glad the i finally, after all these years, saw the final episode of the X-Files. The movie didn't really leave me wanting but, it really didn't leave me satisfied either. I left feeling that i had just seen a small snippit of the life of two people that were once great and were just looking to relive that greatness one more time. Meh. I am glad that I saw it but at the same time I don't think that it was really worthy of the big screen. Oh well, like i said, I am glad that i saw the final episode of the X-Files.

Today i went to the shop that is putting together the Rod and Piston for the Rothcar. The owner look at me as i walked through the door and immediately said "Crap!!" and.... it's at least another days wait. Ah well what's one more day in the saga of the Rothcar?
On other fronts i am getting ready to install my Hydroxy generator in the 'Scort. It should be interesting to see what happens when i introduce Brown Gas into the intake, i hope that i don't explode in a blue fiery death. If i don't then i have another one waiting in the wings for the truck, and i think i have a design that will work pretty well at this point so there may be thoughts of making a few more if things go well enough. Anyone interested in doubling your gas millage?

    <lj:music>The sound of Quiet</lj:music>

Alright as most of you know and some of you don't i have accepted a new job that begins at the beginning of the year. It's with the same company i am now working at except that i will be building servers instead of working on other peoples PC's. We will see if it's a good move or not. Potentially i could be making big money inside of two years, or, i could be hating myself and going back to deskside, who knows.
On that note the final decision has been made now that i have a full time job. We are moving to the CR area. The big thing here is that we will need some help from the people in the area getting a place rented. I am kind of a pansy when it come to getting into new places. If any of you know of good houses that are for rent in the area i would be grateful for a heads up. The other option is buying a home but that will only happen if the planets align and GOD points the finger at the place we should live. Thanks in advance for any and all help. The target for moving is late Jan. or early Feb.

While we will not be at the Party tonight, we will be thinking of you all. There are just too many things going on in the next week for us to be able to make it to one more thing. We have My future Father-in-law's wedding to attend in the middle of the week and Icon is next weekend. I also have my sisters wedding coming up early next month as well. So, what with me spending gobbs of money just to get to work and back I can't afford the gas to get to Des Moines tonight. So, while we Love and Adore you all it will have to be from afar today. With that i leave you with 1000 prison inmates dancing to "Thriller". I wish we did this here in the US. Can you imagine if every prison in the US had a Dance off every year?

<lj-embed id="1" />

The people who are starting college this fall across the nation were born in 1987.
They are too young to remember the space shuttle blowing up.
Their lifetime has always included AIDS.
Bottle caps have always been screw off and plastic.
The CD was introduced the year they were born.
They have always had an answering machine
They have always had cable.
They cannot fathom not having a remote control.
Jay Leno has always been on the Tonight Show.
Popcorn has always been cooked in the microwave.
They never took a swim and thought about Jaws.
They can't imagine what hard contact lenses are.
They don't know who Mork was or where he was from.
They never heard: "Where's the Beef?", "I'd walk a mile for a Camel", or "de plane, Boss, de plane".
They do not care who shot J. I LOVED the first game, enough that I still play it almost 10 years later. I was disappointed that they were going to turn it into Starcraft: Ghost, but that never happened. I will wait with eager anticipation and will hang from every new post put out by Blizzard until I can finally play this log awaited sequel.

Back in the days when T3 first came out I went and watched it in the theaters. I know, I Know, anyway. When the movie ended the first words out of my mouth were; "Wow, i think that they are planning a TV series to carry on from this film.". And, well, I seem to have been right. this was taken from an artical about the upcomming T4 movie (An even worse thought still):

Meanwhile, the trade paper reported that the Fox broadcast network is said to be impressed with "The Sarah Connor Chronicles", a Warner Brothers TV-produced hour long drama pilot based on the Terminator characters and mythology. It could be ordered to series as early as this week.

I feel kind of dirty and creeped out that i was right about something so bad.

Well, I finally got a real desk at work. They moved my crap yesterday and this is my first day sitting at a real office space in this company. I have no idea if this means that i am going to be here longer than they first though or if they are just getting my equipment ready for the next person to take over. That may be a little pessimistic but when I am contracting with an open ended contract you never know.

Alright, I am going to go into a little bit of a rant here and I though I should warn you all before reading.

Toyota has announced that they have sold more cars than GM worldwide for the first three months of this year. This is fine. Toyota has a right to sell as many cars as they can in every market that they chose to. I am all for that. The rant that I have is that the majority of the market is in the USA. There are a few reasons that I find this distasteful. One is that this now means that American companies are falling behind the rest of the world. That is a given, it has been happening for years now. This disturbs me in that most of the technologies that go into vehicles were invented by Americans, and continue to be. Our companies are not implementing any of these technologies to gain leadership in the marketplace. When this happens the already poor reputation of US products slides that much more.
Two is that it is a Japanese company. I am all for the Japanese as a people and that they need to live lives as good as anyone else. They are a wonderful people and I want them to be happy and prosperous to. But, while they are racking in the money from America they have laws that govern how much an outside company can do in their country. They, by law, will not allow a person of another nationality to own or run a company located on their soil. (I know some of you know that Ford is commonly said to own Mazda. Not true. They are “Partners”. Mazda is owned by Mazda in Japan. They only reason Ford has any say in what they do is that they own a controlling share of Mazda stock through some rather odd stock buys. Technically no other company or entity outside of Japan can even do that. But it has happened.) This means that while a company from Japan can come in to the US and build factories and sell huge amounts of product an American company cannot do the same in Japan, these companies are pulling money out of our economy and not allowing us to come in to even the deal.
Three is that Americans don’t seem to know that they are handing their futures to other countries, or should I say that they don’t seem to care. People dump buckets full of money in front of Toyota “because they build a better car”. Bullshit, a study just came out that, in America, Ford has a better track record than Toyota for building a good product. They have less problems per vehicle built and equal quality. “The big Three” (GM, Dailmer-Chrysler, and Ford) are the head of a multi TRILLION Dollar industry in America. The largest single section of the world economy. (including Oil, Steel, Plastics and many other sections) When these companies go under as they are doing it is not just these companies that will be hurt. There are countless people all over the world that are indirectly liked to this section of the economy.
There are several other things that bug me about this. I know that I have not presented myself here very well. There are several other issues that I could, and in the future may,
bring up. I also know that I have a bias toward American car companies in general and that I am looking at the issue from a skewed perspective. I also feel that this economy cannot take the blow of another industry, and the biggest one at that, falling to foreign control. Well, this is the end of my rant and I hope that some of you get a little bit out of my incoherent ramblings. Please respond if you have questions comments or just want to stick it to me. Thanks.

(yes, it's been a slow day at work today)
